Summary of services provided by the Samurdhi Division
Release of funds for Samurdhi social security beneficiaries
- In the case of a death, death certificate and relevant documents must be submitted within 30 days.
- In the case of a marriage, marriage certificate and relevant documents must be submitted within 30 days.
- In the case of a birth, birth certificate and relevant documents must be submitted within 30 days.
- In the case of hospitalization, a medical certificate and relevant documents must be submitted within 7 days.
Release of compulsory savings funds
- If the reason for requesting funds is illness, medical reports must be provided.
- If the request is for higher education purposes, supporting letters and certificates must be submitted.
- If the request is due to old age, a certified copy of the National Identity Card confirming that the person is over 70 years of age must be submitted.
- A request letter must also be submitted along with the above documents.
- Compulsory savings may also be released for the self-employment needs of Samurdhi beneficiaries.
Under the Livelihood Development Programme
- For projects of Samurdhi beneficiaries that can be empowered under the livelihood development programme, equipment will be provided after receiving proposals and subjecting them to evaluation and approval.
